Container Cargo Safety Reminder

12.30.2010

We at Seafreight care about our Customers and we want to protect the integrity of your cargo. When a Container is picked up at a Customers location, it is required that a high grade security Seal be placed on the Container. There are times that you will require your Container to be taken to a second stop for loading prior to arriving at the Seaport. If the Container has to go to a second location prior to going to the port, the Customer has to determine if the 2nd stop has a Seal, if it does not, it is highly recommended that an additional Seal be placed in an envelope inside the Container before you seal the Container at the first stop so it can be placed on the Container after it is loaded at the 2nd stop. (Seatruck drivers are not responsible for handling and affixing Seals or padlocks).  If there is no Seal on the Container, Seafreight will require a letter from the Customer prior to picking up the Container, holding us harmless of any liability for missing cargo for transporting the Container without a Seal. Please be guided accordingly.
