Seafreight Line announces that a Port Container Inspection Fee for cargo moving from the United States to Cayman Islands will soon be implemented by the Port Authority of the Cayman Islands.

This fee will be paid at destination and will appear as an invoice by the Port Authority or by the Carrier’s agent.

Note that this is a local port authority charge, applicable to all cargo being discharged in Grand Cayman.

The Port Container Inspection Fee will be between $65 and $200 per container (estimated), and will be applicable to all Public and Service Contract rates.

We will advise in the near future on the implementation date, as well as the amount of the fee.
