Account Executive
Immediate Supervisor: V.P. Sales/Marketing
Job Summary: Plans and manages the daily schedule of customer visits and contact. Also coordinates and ensures activities of outport sales agents are up to company and marketing standards.
Job Scope: Each sales executive is responsible for oversight of assigned market coverage.
Principal Duties and Reposibilities:
  • Generate cargo and maintain accounts
  • Customer visits to maintain good standing relationships
  • Maintain customer base updated on service and trade developments
  • Stay in tune with market conditions and competitor service profiles and rate actions
  • Work closely with pricing to obtain maximum revenue in accordance with market conditions and analyze industry statistics from various reporting sources
  • Analyze customer profiles to determine frequency of visits and submitting weekly visit itinerary
  • Implementation and maintenance of master account list including target accounts, which is provided to inside sales for tele marketing.
  • Ensures that weekly revenue targets are achieved
  • Prepare sales and marketing reports to enhance market analysis and customer profiles
  • Entertain customers in order to develop and strengthen account relations
  • Correspond and liaison with overseas agents in order to properly cover territory including weekly sales reports, and response to generated cargo leads
  • Travel to respective overseas territories in order to develop and maintain adequate rapport and communications with agents and customers and generate cargo sales
  • Participate in weekly sales meeting to coordinate and evaluate progress for each sailing
Secondary Responsibilities:
  • Field liaisons with all departments which ensures quality service
  • Contact customer by telephone when in office
  • Take bookings, quote customers and follow ups
  • Assist Pricing in the preparation of service contracts and proposals
  • Attend trade show, industrial fairs and association meting both locally and overseas
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of areas of responsibility and other in-house support groups to effectively understand company mission to meet related goals and objectives.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Problem solving skills, and the ability to make quick decisions.
  • Knowledge of Traffic, tariffs and Customs regulations.
  • Good knowledge of shipping industry and the inter-workings between company departments.
  • The ability to prioritize and schedule work.
  • The ability to diagnose problems, make recommendations or take action to elicit improvement.
  • The ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
