At their recent annual luncheon, Americas Relief Team (ART) presented SeaFreight Line with a Leadership Excellence Award in recognition for the company’s participation in the relief efforts during the 2008 Hurricane season. SeaFreight played a very active role in assisting ART with relief shipments throughout the Caribbean area, in particular to Haiti, that was devastated by a number of storms in 2008.
Teo Babun, Chairman of ART, thanked SeaFreight for its efforts and stated in his presentation, that while the value of such assistance could hardly be measured, he estimated the effort to be well into the “hundreds of thousands of dollars”.
For its part, David Ross, company Executive Vice President, thanked Mr. Babun for the recognition however stated that the Company believed it had a duty to help and assist those in need especially within the Caribbean area where the Company has strong roots and connections. “It is an honor to serve and help the people of the Caribbean” Ross said.
