New Chassis Regulations

1.31.2011

Dear Valued Clients,
As published recently, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) recently launched the Comprehensive Safety Analysis 2010, or CSA. The new regulations address a number of items related to safety as it relates to equipment and drivers and the respective liabilities.
Effective March/1/2011, SeaFreight Line is implementing a plan to move the provision of Chassis to the Truck lines and will no longer be providing Ship Line Chassis to Truckers. Truckers will be required to supply their own chassis when picking up SeaFreight Line Containers either having their own or an agreement with any of the Chassis leasing companies doing business in the respective area.
We are reaching out to all Clients and Truckers in the impacted areas who are in our database to ensure that they are fully briefed on the new requirement. However, to avoid confusion during the next 30 days, we recommend that you speak with your chosen Drayman and ensure that they are aware of this change. We also suggest that you review the current updates on the FMCSA web site http://csa.fmcsa.dot.gov/
Should you have any questions, please contact SeaFreight Line at 305-592-6060 or 904-713-0150 for further assistance.
