SeaFreight assists with Hospital Equipment to St. Vincent

2.9.2010

SeaFreight Line is pleased to have partnered with the International Hospital for Children (IHC) and the St. Vincent South Rotary Club in a campaign to deliver a new Neonate Intensive Care Unit critical to the care for children in St. Vincent and the region. IHC's mission is to improve infrastructure at the main Milton Cato Memorial Hospital in St. Vincent so the daily care of children is greatly improved. The hospital was in great need of a new Neonate Intensive Care Unit to address the high mortality rates of premature and/or sick newborns. Through the generosity of the Medical College of Virginia almost US$400,000 worth of equipment was donated and funding was found for the build out of a new NICU within the hospital.
Getting the items shipped to St. Vincent was a large hurdle for a nonprofit to take on said Susan Rickman, President of IHC. That’s where SeaFreight Line stepped in and took care of the logistical support to gather and ship the equipment to St. Vincent at no expense to the IHC or the Hospital in St.Vincent.
“We are incredibly grateful for your stepping up to the plate to be part of this humanitarian shipment. From IHC, the St. Vincent Rotarians, and the families of every future fragile baby who will be born in St. Vincent and require an advanced and modern NICU to survive - thank you for your critical role in making this happen” said Ms.Rickman. Executive Vice President of SeaFreight, David Ross said “We are pleased to assist in this extremely important effort to help the Children of St.Vincent and the Caribbean in general. We are a Company born out of the Caribbean and our ties are strong. Opportunities to give to the people of the area are important to us and we will always try to do the best we can to help. We very much appreciate what IHC is doing and feel privileged to be a part of the effort”.
